This is the first post in The Journal.
The previous Grange website was, frankly, abysmal. It went live about three and a half years ago and barely moved after that. Requests for amendments sat with an unresponsive tech team for years. What buyers actually saw was the listing — and around it, a lifeless shell.
Tracy and I talked about how difficult that situation had become. I kept turning it over. Ten years ago I spent a year as a web designer. I figured it couldn’t be worse than what was live — so I gave it a go.
A month of spare evenings
Any spare time got locked into this project. Over a month I poured the hours in: structure, design, listings, forms, the bits agents need day to day. Not a rented template with a logo dropped on top — a fully custom site built for how The Grange actually works.
That site has been live for about six weeks now. It already exceeds the old one on features, style and speed. It isn’t finished — there is more we want to do — but it is a long way closer to the standard we hold for every home we photograph and present.
